No two Tiddlywink days are ever the same. Our bespoke activities depend on the needs of the children, their age and abilities. However we do have a little structure to the day that ensures your child gets the most out of their time at Tiddlywinks.

Nursery opening – children and families are welcomed into the nursery.

Breakfast time – we offer healthy breakfast choices, according to individual dietary requirements.

Circle time/songs/stories – we start the day by welcoming everyone, singing, sharing individual news and checking the weather.

Continuous provision/ independent choices – the children have access to a range of resources and activities to support their development. Children are able to play with their friends or alone, and will have the support of their key person and other nursery practitioners. Outdoor play is available at all times.

Some of the activities available may include painting, music and singing, story sessions, puppets, messy play activities (wet and dry sand, play dough, soil, pasta or water), dressing up and a role play, bikes, scooters, climbing, balls, hoops, building blocks and materials, IT equipment (e.g. cameras, video recorders, calculators and computers), treasure baskets, boxes, musical instruments and a range of other resources according to children’s age and development stage.

Time to eat – Our on-site chefs prepare a fresh locally sourced lunch and tea every day. Fruit, healthy snacks and milk are provided at morning and afternoon snack times.

Individual development – your child’s key person will plan activities that support their individual development. They will observe your child daily and use these observations to plan the ‘next steps’ in their learning journey.

Home time – this is an opportunity for parents to chat to your child’s individual key person and find out about their day.
