Investing in our people
It is the calibre of our staff that really set our nurseries apart. We invest in our staff, into their training and development, and offer excellent career progression opportunities. That’s one of the reasons we have such a low turnover of staff, and means we can provide consistently high-quality provision for the children in our care. Staff enjoy working as Tiddlywinks and their longevity is testimony. Staff understand and value that they can really develop their careers as exceptional nursery practitioners with us.
Building essential skills and knowledge
All staff must take a number of mandatory courses, including first aid, safeguarding, food hygiene and allergy awareness, online safety, safe sleeping and other key areas of child protection and safety.
In addition, we subscribe to leading online training course providers, which give staff a wide range of extra training courses to choose from. This enables them to build their skills in key areas of interest. By developing their skills, knowledge and expertise, our staff continuously bring new ideas and practices into our settings to engage, challenge and inspire our children in new and exciting ways.
Gaining recognised qualifications
Our nursery practitioners are all qualified or working towards Level 3 qualifications in Childcare. We also encourage our staff to undertake training from level 4 up to degree or teacher level where desired. We encourage and support any kind of training that sparks our staffs interest and that can give them skills and knowledge to further enhance their practice. We also provide opportunities to progress and gain seniority within the nursery, so staff can increase their skill and responsibilities and further their careers without having to leave our Tiddlywinks family.
